Sombrero Volteao!

This coming Sunday the Colombian community in South Florida is celebrating the Colombian Independence. One of the sponsors of the event, Comcast, has commissioned us to decorate their trailer. We will be doing 4 balloon columns and the Pièce de résistance will be a 5ft sculpture of a traditional Colombian sombrero volteao! Unveiling June 10, 2011

We have been commissioned for the unveiling of the new lobby sculpture from Saint Andrews Estate South in Boca Raton, FL. It has been a tough cookie; the sculpture is metallic and has sharp curves and waves, which could pop balloons. We actually haven’t seen it yet because it is still in its crate. So we’ve been trying to see how can we enhance the unveiling ceremony with balloons. We have thought of a giant 10 ft high balloon wall that would float away, or a balloon release with 1000 balloons inside that will float to the ceiling when the red ribbon is cut. We’ve also proposed a balloon wall with jumbo balloons that will pop and will reveal the sculpture and finally and this might be the one we go with jumbo balloons lifting a fabric that will cover the sculpture until the red ribbon is cut. 70's Disco

The first thing that comes to mind is Saturday Night Fever. John Travolta on the multicolor dance floor  under huge disco ball moving his hips. This coming June 4th we will be at the Royal Palm Beach Civic Center for a graduation. The decor is inspired on this era. We are using 22 inch disco ball mylar balloons and neon color latex balloons for the centerpieces. As for the stage we will be doing two different balloon sculptures. On one side of the stage we will have a Long Play and a 70's Disco Shoe balloon sculpture. We will keep you posted, and watch out for the latest pictures on our Facebook page.
